European Volunteer Agency - EVA

For the past ten years, the Nemezko-Russky Obmen (NRO, German-Russian Exchange) has arranged placements for young Western European volunteers in St.-Petersburg and North-West Region and for Russian Volunteers in Western Europe. Since 2006 a European Volunteer Agency was created within the NRO in St.-Petersburg by the support of the German Foundation "Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft" (www.stiftung-evz.de) and Schmitz Foundation (www.schmitz-stiftung.de). Its establishment has facilitated and improved the GRE's volunteer programmes. So far, only in the last 2 years, more than 120 young people have volunteered in more than 30 non-governmental organisations in North-West Region of Russia and in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Italy and have gone through a 3-part training seminar on volunteer management. Additionally, the NRO agency offers assistance to host organisations from North-West Region in all matters concerning the work with foreign volunteers.
NRO is participating in the "Youth in Action Program", Action 2 - European Volunteer Service of EU as sending, hosting and co-ordinating organisation.
2008 European Volunteer Agency has initiated a regional Volunteer Organisations Network "Volunteer Coalition" with more than 15 active members (www.volonter.info).
