1 Year in Germany

Our Programs: 1 Year in Germany

How to participate in the program “1 year in Germany?”

In order to participate in the program, you must fill out an application and send it to the e-mail address specified in the questionnaire.

What is the program 1 year in Germany?

  • Study
Students study in a German high school for 10 months, communicating with their peers from around the world. Organizers
of the program coordinate the training process.
  • Accommodation
Students live with German host families. Families provide food for the student and care for them for the duration of the program. Organizers of the program regularly supervise the situation in the family. It is possible to change families.
  • Organizers
The organizers of the program are the social organization “German-Russian Exchange” in partnership with the German branch of the international organization AFS.
  • AFS – the largest community organization in the world that coordinates international exchange programs for high school students, who come from 52 countries in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa, and also Australia and New Zealand. AFS provides year- and semester-long programs for more than 10,000 participants annually.
  • Adaptation
The German-Russian Exchange and AFS help students adapt to life in a different country, conduct a variety of cultural programs, and inform parents about what is going on in the life of the student from the time they are in Germany.

“After participation in the program our son was much more responsible. Previously he was responsible, but rather unconsciously. He came back from Germany with a clearer understanding.”

Elena Kan – the mother of Fedi Kan, a participant in the programin 2005-2006

«The life of Germans is very different. They have goals and take a very mature approach to problem solving. They value and have an interest in education. They want to study and love it. One year in Germany helped me grow up and prioritize.”

Tanya Shmankivich participant in the program in 2006-2007
